I was a new REALTOR® in Charleston, South Carolina, when an internet lead asked to see a home on a Saturday afternoon. The neighborhood didn’t feel right when I pulled up, but I did what we’re taught: I arrived early, waited, and left the front door open once we were inside.
The buyer walked to the back of the house and made a phone call. A minute later, a truck pulled up and two men came up onto the porch. My heart stopped. Nobody knew where I was or who I was with.
It turned out they had seen the sign and the open door and thought it was an open house. I handed them my card, and nothing happened. But I left that house changed, because if it had gone the other way, no one would have known where to look or who to look for.
So I went looking for a tool that would fix that, and I didn’t find one. Most safety apps can alert someone where you are. None of them recorded who you were with. So I built SafeShowings.
Here’s how it works. Before you go in, you start a showing with your client’s name and phone number, and, if you choose, a photo. A safety timer runs on our servers, not on your phone. If it runs out before you check in, your emergency contacts get your location, the address, and who you’re with, even if your phone is gone. If you need help right away, the Panic button alerts them immediately.
Every agent deserves to go to work knowing someone will always know where they are and who they’re with. That’s why SafeShowings.
